StorageMax Hosts 11th Annual Christmas Charity Event Supporting CARA

FLOWOOD, MS—StorageMax will once again spread holiday cheer to homeless pets across the Jackson metro area with its 11th Annual Christmas Charity Event benefiting Community Animal Rescue & Adoption (CARA). The free community event will take place on Saturday, November 21, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at StorageMax Dogwood, located at 6027 Manship Rd, Flowood, MS 39232.

Now in its eleventh year, the event has become a holiday tradition for pet lovers throughout the metro area, combining festive fun with a meaningful cause. Families are invited to enjoy live music, plate lunches and beverages, photos with Santa Claus, pet microchipping services, and a craft fair featuring local vendors. Admission is completely free, making it an easy, feel-good outing for the whole family—four-legged members included.

Collecting Donations Across the Jackson Metro Area

The celebration on November 21 is the culmination of a much greater effort. From September 1 through November 21, every StorageMax location throughout the Jackson metro area will serve as a collection site for pet food donations benefiting CARA. Community members are encouraged to donate a 16-pound bag or larger of pet food at any StorageMax facility throughout the donation window. For every bag of pet food donated, StorageMax will donate $5 to CARA. Purina and Pedigree brands are preferred.

Donors aren't just giving back; they're also getting rewarded for their generosity. Anyone who drops off a qualifying pet food donation receives 10% off one month's rent at StorageMax, plus one entry into a raffle for every 16 pounds donated. Raffle prizes include:

• One month of free storage rent
• A $500 grand prize
• Additional raffle giveaways donated by local businesses

The raffle drawing will be held on-site during the charity event on November 21 at 1:00 p.m., though winners are not required to be present to claim their prize.

Last year's donation drive was a resounding success, with StorageMax collecting 21,377 pounds of pet food for CARA in 2025 alone. Organizers are hoping to build on that momentum again this year as the community rallies to support local animals in need heading into the winter months.

All proceeds and donations from the event benefit Community Animal Rescue & Adoption (CARA), a local organization dedicated to rescuing, rehabilitating, and rehoming animals in the Jackson metro area. Pet food donations collected throughout the fall help CARA continue to care for animals awaiting adoption, easing the financial burden of feeding and sheltering pets in the organization's care during the busy holiday season.
